Meet The Sitters

Laura Beattie

Laura Beattie

Owner - Pet sitter

I have had animals all of my life, from the usual dogs, cats, hamsters, guinea pigs and fish to the not so usual ducks, turtles, frogs, snakes. I currently have 6 inside cats and I take care of 5 outside cats whose owners left behind. As a kid, I got to know our local vet quite well as I was the one always bringing hurt animals of every type to him & then I’d spend weeks nursing them to health. I have been taking care of friends and family’s pets for over 30 years. While I was in College, I was trained by a Vet as a Vet Tech when I worked in her clinic/kennel, however, I’m not a certified Vet Tech. I have been a certified Pet Tech instructor for Pet CPR & First Aid since 2013.

I decided to start a pet sitting business not only because I love animals, but because I wanted to provide the kind of excellent pet care that I wanted to receive as a pet owner.  It would be my absolute joy & pleasure to make certain that your beloved pets are given lots of love and attention while you are away.

Laura covers Sanford and Lake Mary and backs up all locations.

Doreen Herring

Doreen Herring

Pet sitter

My name’s Doreen and I LOVE animals! Being born on a farm in Indiana and raised in the country in Geneva, Fl, I have owned dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters, a pony and even a cow and two pigs over the years. My pigs actually thought that they were dogs because they ran around with our dogs and would greet us when we come home just like our dogs! I currently have 8 fur kids in my home along with some feral kitties and Sharkie the fish, that allow me to live inside as long as I feed them and supply them with lots of LOVE, FOOD, TOYS AND TREATS!, LOL. My mom and sister taught me at an early age about being kind to animals and I have carried that with me always. Luckily for me my parents were also huge animal lovers because I was always bringing home a stray that was in need of love and care. My sister taught me how to train dogs (which I don’t really practice since my babies seem to have ME trained instead. But that is ok because they have me trained quite well to jump at their every bark. I am a very proud Foster Mom for Dachshund Adoption Rescue & Education (DARE) and have been able to help in finding many abused or abandoned doxies loving forever homes. I have been pet sitting professionally since 2007 but have cared for the pets of friends and family close to 30 years. I also have experience as a Property & Casualty Insurance Agent and Bookkeeping. When by beloved Dachshund mix got cancer and started having seizures I changed jobs so that I could take him to work with me. My vet fondly refers to me as a “very observant neurotic nut” because I keep such a very close eye on my pets and any other animal that is in my care for any change in their behavior that may signal something that needs medical attention. I also like to keep my clients updated on any minor issues that I notice “just in case” they may need to be monitored. I am not a Vet nor have I ever worked for one, but my years of experience with my own animals have taught me that each one is different and they have their own personality so if they are not “themselves” I would rather err on the side of caution when it comes to their well being. I believe that you can learn a lot from animals if you take the time to understand their language. Because of that I was able to extend Bandit’s life for almost a year longer than my vet expected. I take my responsibilities as a Pet Sitter very seriously and promise to care for each and every pet as if they are one of my own! Doreen does midday dog walks in the Sanford, Lake Mary and Longwood areas.

Jodi Crilly

Jodi Crilly

Pet sitter

My name is Jodi Crilly. I’ve lived in Seminole County for about 25 years now.
Back when I was a toddler growing up in Honolulu, there were no leash laws, so I would bring “poi” dogs (mixed breed, usually stray) into our house to play. My parents knew from that point on that having pets was a must for me because of my love for animals. And we did. We had the usual pets: dogs, cats, birds, fish, hamsters, and the like. I also had pet ducks, raised frogs from tadpoles, and rescued a few turtles.
Later, I decided on a career in the airline/travel industry but my passion for animals never diminished.
I would take care of my friends’ pets when they were away and over the years, it developed into something more.
Now I’m 17 years into it and still loving the pet-sitting business. In those 17+ years, I’ve taken care of a variety of dog and cat breeds mostly, and an occasional rabbit or exotic pet. I feel I have a connection with all of them and those bonds are so sweet.
It’s like being the grandma who comes to watch the grandkids and spoils them for a little bit before having to give them back to their parents. So I guess you could say that my pet friends have now become my family.

Katrina LoCoco

Katrina LoCoco

Pet sitter

My name is Katrina, but most people call me Kat! I recently moved to the Sanford area and I’m absolutely loving how pet friendly this town is! I’ve met so many new furry friends!
I’ve always wanted to surround myself with animals; from having a house full of pets, to just leisurely walking around the zoo.
I’m that person who goes to a friend’s house and ends up paying more attention to their dog!
I have experience with dogs, cats, rabbits, ferrets, guinea pigs, hamsters, mice, rats, snakes, turtles, iguanas, hermit crabs, frogs, sugar gliders, lizards, birds & fish… pretty much anyone that needed a home or taken care of.
I love animals, which led me to work at a pet store, until I realized I couldn’t take them all home. So I worked at a Vet clinic. It taught me so much and later helped me with my own senior & seizure prone pets.
I enjoy spending my day meeting new furry friends and loving it!! Pets truly are family and I’m honored to care for yours..

Bonnie Ulmer

Pet sitter

I have a lifelong love for animals where I grew up surrounded by dogs, cats, guinea pigs, birds, fish, and even a turtle that lived with us for over 30 years. Currently, my home is graced by the presence of Harlen, my energetic Great Dane, who loves to play with her furry friends.  Beyond the joy of caring for my own pets, I extend my love and commitment to animals by volunteering at the Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando. As a bark buddy I walk and play with the dogs and participate in adoption events.  For me, pets are family, and each one deserves to be treated with love and respect. I believe in creating a safe and nurturing environment for every animal I encounter, ensuring they feel secure and cherished.

If you’re seeking someone who treats your pets as their own, look no further. I am here to ensure your pets receive the love, attention, and care they deserve, making each encounter a positive and enriching experience for them.

Karen Lepish

Karen Lepish

Pet sitter

I’m originally from Cleveland, OH, and moved down to Florida in 2002. I’ve grown up taking care of all sorts of wonderful critters: hamsters, fish, lizards, birds, turtles, cats and dogs. I always had large dogs mostly Collies and German Shepherds. Currently, I have been adopted by two sweet kitties which were rescues. They allow me to live with them. I take care of my friends’ pets when they go away. I currently am a Citizens On Patrol volunteer for Seminole County and always stop and talk to people who are walking their dogs. So after retiring from my full time position as an executive recruiter, I decided that helping animals is what I want to do. Our pets are our family and deserve much love and respect.

My name is Jada, I was raised in Texas but have been living in Oviedo, FL for about 5 years now. I have a 15 year old Min Pin named Sonic who I absolutely adore and have always enjoyed furry animals for as long as I can remember. There is even a photo of me picking up our family dog’s puppies when I was 2 years old, so even then I knew I loved animals. When I was 12 I started volunteering at my local animal shelter. After coming to Florida I worked at a Dog/Cat boarding facility and have worked as a Pet Sitter/Dog Walker for several years. Animals are such important members of our family and I love treating them with compassion and giving them best care possible.
